چکیده
We study properties of the work distribution a many-body system driven through quantum phase transition in finite time. focus on non-Gaussianity distribution, which we characterize two quantitative metrics: skewness and negentropy. In particular, Ising model show that duration ramp enhances for size system. By examining characteristics full observe there is clear intermediate regime between sudden quench adiabatic limits, where becomes increasingly skewed.

Log-amplitude statistics of intermittent and non-Gaussian time series.
In studies of hydrodynamic turbulence and nonequilibrium systems, it has been demonstrated that the observed non-Gaussian probability density functions are often described effectively by a superposition of Gaussian distributions with fluctuating variances. Based on this framework, we propose a general method to characterize intermittent and non-Gaussian time series. In our approach, an observed...
متن کاملDriving non-Gaussian to Gaussian states with linear optics
We introduce a protocol that maps finite-dimensional pure input states onto approximately Gaussian states in an iterative procedure. This protocol can be used to distill highly entangled bipartite Gaussian states from a supply of weakly entangled pure Gaussian states. The entire procedure requires only the use of passive optical elements and photon detectors, which solely distinguish between th...
متن کاملLog-amplitude statistics of non-Gaussian fluctuations
To quantify heavy-tailed distributions observed in financial time series, we propose a general method to characterize symmetric non-Gaussian distributions. In our approach, an observed time series is assumed to be described by the multiplication of Gaussian and amplitude random variables, where the amplitude variable describes fluctuations of the standard deviation. Based on this framework, it ...
متن کاملNon-Gaussian statistics of multiple filamentation.
We consider the statistics of light amplitude fluctuations for the propagation of a laser beam subjected to multiple filamentation in an amplified Kerr media, with both linear and nonlinear dissipation. Dissipation arrests the catastrophic collapse of filaments, causing their disintegration into almost linear waves. These waves form a nearly Gaussian random field that seeds new filaments. For s...
